Gradwell Internet for business people

How to set up the SJphone application

Getting started

A softphone is a piece of software that, when downloaded to your computer and combined with our free trial, enables you to experience Internet telephony technology without purchasing additional hardware. You will require a suitable headset with a microphone, or a USB phone device.

You can download SJphone for a number of operating systems at here.

SJphone should now register to our network and enable you to make and receive calls, in order to test the quality of your audio you can dial 160 and follow the instructions.

Advanced settings and troubleshooting

If the SJphone software does not register, then you will need to check your personal firewall settings on your PC to ensure that the software is not blocked from accessing the Internet.

If you experience any audio problems such as one way audio, then you will need to ensure that your network is configured correctly - this is called port forwarding and further information is available in our wiki article Firewall and NAT Settings.
